I’m Soumya, a Senior Product Manager at an edtech startup and a very happy 3× career pivoter 🙋🏻‍♀️

I started out in architecture, and while I loved designing, I knew it wasn’t my long-term thing. So I explored, going to grad school, and searching for work that felt meaningful, aligned with my strengths, paid well, and supported the life I wanted.

That path took me through a brief planning & policy stint (wild that a memo you write could influence hundreds of cities) and then into the nonprofit world, where I saw deep impact up close but also felt the realities of fundraising, driving institutional change, pay gaps, and burnout.

Eventually, I found my way into edtech product, and everything clicked. It brought together my skills, interests, and values, and finally felt like my happy space.

You know that moment when your career finally makes sense? That was mine.

Every step of my journey has come with its own plot twist, aha moment, or “okayyy… did not see that coming.” I want to share all of that real stuff with you, the wins, the stumbles, and the “wait, what do I do now?” moments, so your journey feels a little less chaotic and a lot more empowered.

Because this whole career-and-life thing is hard.
